North Pole Is Warming Up?
Scientist say all the ice will melt away by August.

Dear Santa,

First of all, thanks for the gifts over the years. Even though I'm all grown up, I still remember the new bike, the Jimmy Jet airplane simulator, and the gifts that fit in the stockings. You did really well in my opinion.

I'm writing you in June because I understand that for the first time in the history of the world that the North Pole may be completely surrounded by water very soon. Not ice. Not snow. Water. I can't believe that the ice melt has gotten that far north and I'm concerned about you.

Now I know something about being surrounded by water being here in Iowa this year but we're used to the rain. But not at the North Pole?

I don't know if Al Gore was right about this global warming stuff but I do know that Santa should be surrounded by ice and snow all year around. Not water.

What are you going to do about the reindeer? And your sleigh? And the elves in the workshop? Santa, I'm really concerned about you.

If we had any cold weather here, I'd sure send it up to you but like I said it's June in Iowa. A snowball wouldn't have much chance here right now. Maybe you could wire the folks down under to send some snow your way.

Santa, I hope the scientist are wrong about their dire prediction of a water surrounded North Pole. Otherwise, a boat will be delivering your supplies and mail for a few months and that would really set your schedule back quite a ways. And we couldn't postpone Christmas this year. Or any year for that matter.

Guess I'll be thinking cold thoughts for you for a while.
Your friend,
Mr. Moo
