Too bad people are so narrow minded. President Kennedy was Catholic, voters were uptight, some people couldn't get past his faith. If people live in Utah everybody is Mormon, some people think! I didn't know we had to kowtow to certain? religions. Besides religion is not the issue, politics and religion(s) DO NOT MIX!

I am not sure Mattie agrees with me or not, but my earlier column, "Politics and Religion Don't Mix' may clarify it. Go to "All Sections" at the top of the page, then Columnists, the Everett's Version, and you will find it listed. Click on it, and it will open.

"Root of all Evil" rides the Super Pac bicycle; game of 'Sock & Poll.' Fair-minded liberal Democrats want what is best for "real Americans." Republicans, consistently are pigheaded and unwilling to compromise with a Democratic president (or Democratic Congress); part of problem, not part of solution. Middle-class has been enslaved long enough at the mercy of corporate greed. Deep-pockets of money moguls having a strong deep-rooted toe-hold on our electorial process. 'Root of all evil,' extremely powerful business tycoons 'paying it forward ' to gain chips for return on favors that feather their own nests, controls our government & elections!!! ~ "Caveat emptor" - (Let the buyer (voter) beware).

Article VI, paragraph 3 of the U.S. Constitution stipulates,
“The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”
The article implicitly precludes any questions on the religious affiliation or beliefs of a president.
2012 GOP wannabee's TV ads & talk reeks of atrocious hoof & mouth disease. Hell-bent for election, fueled by religious bigotry, well oiled machines geared to get God fearing votes - smacks of hypocrisy. GOP Grand Slams will go down in history as the worst to ~ one and other EVER!
