A Win for 'W'

Bush's guaranteed method for a win on Tuesday that will never happen.

This won’t take long. After spending 6 class periods with high school students today, I think I have it figured out. The election will be too close and the lawyers are going to have a hay-day. BUT, I know how to make this an “over and done with by 10pm EST”.

El presidente needs to do one thing. Look the American people in the eyes and say these words: I’M SORRY. Game, set, match.

If the president would admit that he went into Iraq with faulty intelligence that fooled him and the rest of us. If the president would admit that when he stood on board the aircraft carrier and declared “Mission Accomplished”, it was premature. If the president would admit to the American people that this taking over and “freeing Iraq” was tougher than he originally thought it would be. If the president would listen up and admit he made a mistake, he would win this election hands down.

I believe George W. Bush is a good man. I believe George W. Bush is a God-fearing man. I believe George W. Bush made a mistake. I think the American people believe that mistakes are forgivable.

Mr. President, if you admit you were wrong in many areas of this war, you will win without recounts and lawyers and we can all go to bed early on Tuesday night.

In talking to these bright young people, they agreed that it is the one thing that would win the election without question for the president. Even one student who has been the most critical of the president in the two and a half years that I have been in dialog with him about the war said, if the president would admit a mistake in the handling of the war, he would vote for him.

Good news or bad news is that, we will be up late on Tuesday because hell is not going to freeze over and the president is not going to apologize.

Rats!

W was not misled or mis-informed on the intelligence leading to the Iraq tragedy. He has out and out LIED about said information. As recently as 8/20/06 he was still trying to connect Saddam and OBL. This is after he was informed (10/05) that there was absolutely no connection.

Any mea culpa would have to include the fact that he knowingly lied to start a war against a country that was not threatening us and was no threat to us.

If we can impeach a married president for lying about commiting adultery, should we not do the same for a lying bastard who has directly caused the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent people?
