Will it help him weather the late night chill?

David Letterman's Jacket

A letterman's jacket?
Of course. You know Dave.
It hangs in a closet
that's labeled depraved.

But, in what did he letter?
What sport did he play?
I'm guessing mixed-wrestling
at the end of the day.

This crass Late-Show comic
whose lines make you laugh
is as rogue as a rabbit.
He sleeps with his staff.

And while that's immoral,
the law says "no crime."
The one caught blackmailing's
the one who'll do time.

Where is Mother Justice?
Why won't she weigh in?
It seems each is guilty.
Aren't both acts a sin.

Extortion is heinous.
The guilty must pay.
But so should wife-cheaters
who roll in the hay.

Extra-marital affairs come in all colors, shapes & sizes. Letterman never claimed to be a saint. & there is where the differance lies between Letterman and MANY so-called Godly Pastors who stood on Sunday behind their pulpit preaching what they did not follow.

Righteousness & hypocrisy often are synonymous. In fact, "righteous indignation" has been Biblically labled one other SIN. Not to indicate by any means that I condone affairs outside bonds of marriage, but there is no man-made law against extra-marital affairs. In fact, if Adam & Eve were truely the first man and woman on Earth, then INCEST was sanctioned by GOD. Any sane breeder knows what has to happen when having ONLY one male & one female available on the whole Earth to breed from. When their offspring is born, they can ONLY breed back to their mother & father. Incest is all that can happen or the line dies. Human line didn't die. If of sound mind, it is obvious Eve cheated on Adam and Adam on Eve. Procreation is a drive that furthers the race, not left to surmise that God had no intention of Adam & Eve creating a race of people. Bible indicates, due to Adam eating the apple, the rest of us humans were born into SIN. Must get saved!! It was the 'apple' that did them in and if we are to accept incest as part of God's plan to create a human race, we must also accept the SOUND LOGIC that comes with it. That being, Adam could only have affairs with his daughters and Eve with her sons. If not so, none of us humans really exist. Many learned have questioned God being a figment of the imagination but never the whole human race.

PO BOOKS BY GREG ASIMAKOUPOULOS
Sunday Rhymes & Reasons
Published June 4, 2009

Sunday Rhymes and Reasons is a compilation of inspirational poetry by America's pastor/poet laureate, Greg Asimakoupoulos. In this, his third volume of poetry, Pastor Greg paints word pictures that portray both the struggle and fulfillment that define a life of faith. His repertoire of rhymes celebrate rite-of-passage occasions like birth, baptism, marriage and death as well as the major holidays of the church and culture. It is a volume that illustrates the poet's love of words and of popular culture. The author dips his brush into a paint box of hubris, humor and honesty.

"Gloria and I have been encouraged by word pictures from Greg's pen that have celebrated both our ministry and God's presence in our world."Bill Gaither, Gospel music composer/performer

"Gifted poet Greg Asimakoupoulos is a dear friend of our family. His poetry blesses, comforts, entertains, and provides inspiration for every season of life."Natalie Grant, singer/songwriter/recording artist
