It's been a long time since I've played with Bryce. It's time to get reacquainted. You can get version 5.5 for free! To me, Bryce landscapes seem to beckon one's imagination, so I've decided to begin a series of narratives, with Part One appearing below. I don't know where this 'story' will go, just that it concerns a very inexperienced explorer and his unfortunate crew.

My eagerness to go ashore would not be quelled despite the general consensus to wait until morning. I must admit that the elation I felt upon touching the sand soon gave way to apprehension when we found little firewood and darkness fast approaching. A brief period of alarm ensued whilst I weighed our options. Indeed, even my first mate, Connors, flirted with blatant insubordination when I announced my decision to burn a longboat. Tempers subsided, as I knew they would, once we basked in the glow of fire and passed the drink. What began in protest was ended in celebration. Our adventure has begun with a most marvelous flame...
