In retrospect, of course, I would have ordered more water to be carried, but who would have expected to come across so little spring water on a mountainous excursion? Yet despite the severe dehydration and interminable complaints, I held my head high at the end of the day for the view was stunning, and we lost just one man. We now know the general lay of the land, and water will be ours tomorrow... or the next day at the very latest.
